The Adel brief

For a property in Adel, Cookridge or Weetwood, record trees, boundaries and changes in level before positioning an extension. A large garden does not make every part of it equally suitable for building. The first design should leave room to understand those constraints, not assume they can be dealt with later.

Preparation guidance, not a survey of your property. The location photograph shows the area; it is not evidence of work by ATR.

Put trees and roots into the brief

Bring to the conversationA site plan with trees, boundaries and the intended footprint.

Why this matters

Mark trees on and beside the plot, including those outside your ownership. Check the council information and ask what specialist input is needed before locating foundations or arranging ground disturbance.

LS16 / 02

Measure the actual working route

Bring to the conversationThe narrowest access width and photos along the delivery route.

Why this matters

Check whether side gates, steps or an existing garage restrict access to the proposed addition. Discuss deliveries and storage while the design can still adapt to the available space.
